Walter Knoll with record orders in the first six months of 2010
At the beginning of the second half of the year, Walter Knoll is positive about the first six months. Many new products have been successfully positioned in both the residential and the business markets. The company has opened a new mono-brand showroom in Peking. "Operating in an environment where competition has become harder, businesses intending to win market shares these days must perform better and increase investments," explains Markus Benz, CEO and Managing Director of Walter Knoll AG & Co. KG.
The order situation has improved considerably: orders for the first half of 2010 were up on the previous year by 20 %. This is also a result of major projects, which included the furniture for the new Museum Folkwang by David Chipperfield Architects, ThyssenKrupp's new premises in Essen, Germany (image above), a bank in Tokyo, Japan and Clariant AG in Basel, Switzerland. The company's furniture know-how ranges from lobby seating through furniture for executive offices to equipment for conference rooms with Media_Conferencing systems.
"We are currently preparing for the Orgatec trade fair. We want to set new standards in office facilities with innovative products," says Markus Benz.
