Europaallee 21, Zurich, Switzerland
Three architects, four buildings, one address: Max Dudler, Gigon/Guyer and David Chipperfield Architects designed a striking building complex for major bank UBS. Like sails of a windmill, the four parts of the building gather around a shared inner courtyard in the new district around Zurich’s main station. The building by Gigon/Guyer shines onto Lagerstrasse. Depending on the light, the façade shimmers in gold with its fabric inserts. Cafés and shops on the ground fl oor draw passers-by into the building.
