Walter Knoll as an example of “German Contemporary Excellence”

exhibition “German Contemporary Excellence”

Excellence, craftsmanship, pop-up art, photography and a road show bound together by an ambitious project: “German Contemporary Excellence.” Launched on Thursday, 2 March 2017 by the Meisterkreis and “Auswärtiges Amt” at the Martin Gropius Bau in Berlin, the itinerant installation will tour the world for two years hosted by the buildings of the German Embassies and Consulates, from Shanghai to New York, from Moscow and Mexico, from Paris to Tokyo, from Cape Town to Mumbai.

The exhibition with photos by renowned artist Jim Rakete and literature by well-known authors is complemented by a book. The traveling show will allow remote countries to get better acquainted with the values shared by German companies and institutions belonging to the Cultural and Creative High-end Industries. They’re all connected by a common leitmotif – creativity, innovation and passion.
