Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center, Anchorage, Alaska, USA
House of glass: David Chipperfield Architects added an expressive building with a glass façade to the Anchorage Museum in Alaska. The crystal cubes constantly change their appearance in the play of light. Inside, the vibrant red of the café is an eye-catcher in a building that otherwise defers to the cool colours of Alaska. This is where Turtle comes to the fore with its shining white shell and soft, red upholstery inside: fresh, harmonious and clear.
